Waitaki Biosciences

Focus
Waitaki's key nutritional ingredients targets joint and bone health. The benefits of these ingredients are backed by sound, independently published, research. Predominately these ingredients are used by Waitaki's clients in the USA, Asia and Europe in formulations for both human and animal nutritional supplements.
The Waitaki Heritage
Waitaki takes its name from the Waitaki River; it was in this region that Waitaki's first factory was built. In 1882 the New Zealand Refrigeration Company, later to merge with Waitaki Industries to form Waitaki International Limited, shipped New Zealand's first ever frozen consignment of lamb to the United Kingdom. From those pioneering days over 100 years ago, Waitaki grew to become the world's largest sheep processor, with turnover in excess of 1,000 million dollars and employing over 20,000 staff.
Although Waitaki International's assets were sold in the mid 1980's as part of a major rationalisation of New Zealand's meat processing industry, Waitaki Biosciences maintained its identity and continued to prosper, exporting pharmaceutical, diagnostic and nutritional supplements into the United States, Europe and Asia.
Waitaki is now a division of Pharmazen Ltd., an innovative manufacturer of natural animal supplements.
